The High Sheriff Special Recognition Award

Salford Cathedral Choir have received The High Sheriff Special Recognition Award from current High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mary-Liz Walker.

Mary-Liz Walker has been a member of the Cathedral Choir for many years and it was great source of pride for our Cathedral community she became High Sheriff of Greater Manchester in April 2023.

Since then, Mary-Liz has had to temporarily step away from the choir to focus on her duties as High Sheriff, but we were delighted to welcome her back last weekend to sing for our Easter liturgies. It was during rehearsals for our Easter Vigil on Saturday, when Mary-Liz presented the award to the choir.

The award recognises the many years of dedicated service by Salford Cathedral Choristers to the life of the Cathedral Parish and the Diocese of Salford through its music and the musical leadership of its congregation.
